It is named after a lake in Colombia which is the basis for the legend of El Dorado, the mythical city of gold. The name was chosen at a time when Data Lakes were promising to bring all kinds of value. Just like El Dorado doesn’t actually exist, many have failed to capture the promised value of data. They were focusing too much on the technology rather than its applications.
We are data & AI enthousiasts who are as excited as you are about the recent breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence. We do realize that only focussing on the technology will not realize its full potential. We have learned to use best practices such as design thinking and lean startup to focus on innvation that provides proven value.
